A Stripey Dance......

Hooray, I just finished the CAL - The Stripey Afghan......... so full of lots of new stitches, that unfortunately play havoc with the edges of blanket....... I ended up deciding that a lap afghan if just fine and dandy!!  It's not one I would do again, although I did enjoy learning new stitches and I will use those stitches in lots of ongoing projects........ just not all in the same afghan!

During the process, which is ongoing all this year on  one of the Ravelry groups devoted to afghans,   I found out about this wonderful little book........... and after a peek inside via the online pages.............. well, its one I will use a lot, so picked it up :)    and loving it!!

So now its back to focusing on the knitting needles which have my woollmeiser hitchhiker scarf halfway in the making

And the little mouse will be a pincushion when she's finished  ..... I thought I'd use up a scrap of fur fabric  I've had sitting here for a bit waiting.......
Now I had planned to finish this post last night, but alas the power and the internet were both out..... we used to get power outs a lot more, so we are pretty used to them around here, so the candles are always kept in the same spot ready to go when needed......... does look like it could be time to get a couple more though!

Great job on the lap blanket. It's certainly bright!!

And the scarf is looking interesting.

So many projects and so little time...

very very pretty lap afghan! the CAL on ravelry sounds lovely - would like to learn and practice some new crochet stitches :) all those beautiful colors in the afghan - how do you weave in all those colored tails, without them popping out? ~ a newbie question, but I think you are an expert so I would like to ask you :)

Hi Kippy, I'm far from expert, however to answer your question about the tails, when I change colours I try to place the tails from the colours along the top of the row of crochet I'm about to do and I crochet over them. I find this makes them almost invisible. On this afghan, I also did a few border rows right around the rug.

The Afghan is so pretty and the little mouse lovely - I wouldn't be able to stick pins in him! Interesting candles. :-)
