Teething Problems

I'd much rather start my post with something pleasant, so I'd love to let you all know I'm having my 5th blog anniversary later this week.  I plan to get a couple of little giveaways together.  I really appreciate it so much when you spend the time to come and visit with me, and even more so when you leave a comment.    I've also seen my followers have managed to make it over the 100 in time for it also, a double celebration!!!!!   So the giveaway will be open to all those who follow my blog ........ You'll just need to leave a comment  on a post from now up till the weekend .......but I'll let you know more about it in a couple days time .....

I seem to have missed quite a bit in blog land over the past couple of weeks .......you see,
Over January I've had to undergo some major dental work, which has involved having to go through 3 visits to the dentist to sit in the chair and have all my top teeth removed ( with the last 6 coming out last week). Some people are lucky enough to have the procedure done in hospital ........guess I missed out on that.........  I feel like all I've done in January is have a mouth full of pain ........ Now it's just a matter of getting used to having this top plate ( which is proving a little more difficult than I had imagined).  If anyone has any tips I would love to hear them please!!!  One thing, I've managed to loose some weight not being able to eat much lol

Hugs sharm

You must be brave having all that dental work done.I hate going to the dentist and mine is the kindest man ever but it doesn't make any difference. He has posters on his ceiling to distract you.A great idea for children ( and wusses like me).Barbarax

Hope you're feeling better. I recall my Mom used to eat soft mints. It help the adjustment in her mouth.

In German I would say "Autsch" ... spoken sth like ouch. Suppose everybody on the whole wide world can imagine what a torture it was to get this done.

Oh, Sharm! That is awful!! My dad has been going through some extensive dental work as well. He goes in on Wednesday to get the implants put in but, this has been a long drawn out process and I am so happy it is about to end. I hope you feel better very soon. It is never fun to be in pain and to not be able to eat. Love you,
Janet Monnett

Oh, Sharm... I've been there. I had to travel to Boston to have mine done at the dental school, but I think I had great work done. They took all the back teeth first top and bottom, then the front teeth and at the same time... same day... I had to start wearing the denture which did not fit too well and as the swelling went down it fit worse. I used tooth glue (polydent) to help after the gums healed which helped the dentures stay in place. That was 4 years ago, then last year I finally got my permanent dentures which fit perfectly. I no longer use glue on the top and the bottom gets a little to stabilize it while eating hard things like apples etc. I'm blessed not to have anymore mouth pain. I had horrible problems with my teeth since as far back as I can remember, so I'm enjoying these dentures and they look nice too.
Hope your mouth heals quickly.
